ISEE Test
The opportunity to get your child into private school is is a welcome challenge but the task is daunting. One of the stressful parts of the process is admissions testing. Prior to admission to a private middle or high school, your child will likely be required to take the ISEE Test (Independent School Entrance Exam, or the SSAT Test (Secondary School Admission Test).
The admissions testing is only one part of the stressful process, but it is one that you can prepare your child for and mitigate some of the anxiety surrounding these challenging exams.
ISEE Test Prep
The ISEE test comes in 3 levels. There is a lower level for students entering the 5th or 6th grade, a middle level ISEE for students entering middle school and the Upper level ISEE for students entering high school (9-11th grades).
Since the ISEE is given to multiple grade levels, all students are not expected to attain a perfect score. Students are judged versus students in the same grade level. In fact, there may be topics on the exam that a students has not covered in school. In these cases, the student in not expected to know the material.
The SSAT test is similar to the ISEE in content and expectation. There are some differences that are important to note and advanced ISEE test preparation and
